A Way of Life
Sharing Prayer: 

Lord, gratefully acknowledging Your mercy and humbly admitting our need, we pledge our trust in You and each other. Filled with desire, we respond to Your call for discipleship by shaping our lives in imitation of Christ.

We profess that the call requires us to be stewards of Your gifts. As stewards, we receive your gift gratefully, cherish and tend them in a responsible manner,  share them in practice and love with others, and return them with increase to the Lord.

We pledge to our ongoing formation as Stewards and our responsibility to call others to that same endeavor. Almighty and ever-faithful God, it is our fervent hope and prayer that You who have begun this good work in us will bring it to fulfillment in Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Role of the Finance Council at St Jude Catholic Community, Ocala FL

Finance councils are mandated by Canon Law and by the Diocese of Orlando. 

“In each parish there is to be a finance committee to help the parish priest in the administration of the goods of the parish, without prejudice to Canon 532. It is ruled by the universal law and by the norms laid down by the diocesan Bishop, and it is comprised of members of the faithful selected according to these norms.” Canon 537.

The Parish Finance Council is consultative in nature to the Pastor. The St. Jude Finance Council serves in an advisory capacity in the administration and stewardship of parish finances and parish budget for our facilities, and long-range financial development. Members of this committee are appointed by thPastor.

Food Pantry

 

 

 

At St. Jude Catholic Community we strive to serve those in need with respect, kindness and confidentiality. We provide non-perishable food items to share with our guests to temporarily help bridge the gap for those with financial difficulties.

Our generous parishioners, Knights of Columbus and visitors provide food donations as well as monetary donations.

 
Volunteers are needed! Responsibilities include restocking and organizing the shelves; have direct client interaction; getting groceries out to the vehicles of pantry clients and making sure everyone is welcomed with dignity and respect as our brothers and sisters in Christ.

Every Tuesday, at 9:00 am we sort and stock and check dates on the food items. On the second and fourth Thursday of the month the food pantry is open from 9:00 am until 11:00 am to serve our guests.

 

Your gift of time and talent would be most appreciated.

Your donation(s) of non-perishable food items can be placed in the baskets in the foyer of the church.

Meal on Wheels

 

 

Deliver meals to the shut-ins in the Marion Oaks community once every five weeks on Thursdays.
